Named for a top Federation fundraiser, storyteller and mentor, the Howard J. Siegal Leadership Institute develops leaders who are committed to cultivating relationships and raising funds for the community through personal conversations.

About our speaker:

Dirk has spent nearly 20 years as a development professional in the Jewish community. As the former Chief Development Officer of JEWISHcolorado and the former Executive Director of the Jewish Community Foundation in Denver, Dirk has extensive experience in development planning, lay leadership engagement, major gift development, family philanthropy, gift planning, next generation philanthropy, professional development, mentoring and supervision, and overall donor stewardship. Dirk is a certified 21/64 trainer with a specific focus in multigenerational Jewish family philanthropy. As an independent consultant, Dirk partners with organizations to develop comprehensive financial resource development plans, create and implement legacy giving programs, assess gaps in overall development efforts, and assist individuals and families who desire to rethink their personal giving plans.

Dirk is a proud Colorado native who currently resides in Denver with his wife, Caron and their three children. Dirk received his B.A. in education from the University of Northern Colorado and his M.A. in sports management from the University of the Pacific. In addition, Dirk is a graduate of the Wexner Heritage Program (Denver/Boulder 14) and currently serves on the board of Ramah in the Rockies.
