Community Board Member Orientation
A Workshop with Nanette Fridman

$18 per person • STAR CJEL members* may send up to 4 people for free

This workshop is designed to benefit anyone, regardless of experience level, who serves on the board of a synagogue or other Jewish nonprofit.  The evening will provide the building blocks needed to succeed and propel your community organization forward.

Program Objectives:

  • Outline the role of the board
  • Explore the primary roles and responsibilities of board members
  • Discuss common board member expections
  • Clarity governance vs. management
  • Learn how to foster successful lay/partner relationships
  • Brainstorm potential board member challenges and solutions
  • Articulate your board goals
