Building Community Leadership: A Conversation about Inspiring Board Volunteers
with Debra Pittorie Forand

All lay presidents of local Jewish nonprofit organizations, schools and synagogues are invited to join us for a facilitated discussion on the barriers we face in moving our board members up the leadership ladder, as well as identifying prospective board members. Our facilitator, Debra Pittorie Forand, will also discuss how to retain board members once they are on the board.

About Debra Pittorie Forand
Debra Pittorie Forand provides external affairs consulting to nonprofits and public sector agencies, helping them build capacity, improve operations and increase revenue. Her specific areas of expertise include board development, strategic communications, fund development planning, and strategic planning. Prior to launching DP Forand Consulting in 2012, Forand held senior management positions in the nonprofit and government sectors.  A graduate of Colgate University and Columbia University Business School’s Senior Leaders Program for Nonprofit Professionals, Ms. Forand is also a BoardSource Certified Governance Trainer.
