The Frank Stavis Leadership Program is designed to help young leaders (up to 40 years of age) better understand the community and the basics of what it means to be a leader in the Jewish community.
Frank Stavis personified leadership. He was committed to the continuity of quality leadership in the Jewish community, and he mentored several generations of new leaders as the past president of both the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and the Mandell JCC. In recognition of Frank’s commitment to Jewish communal life, his friends and family established the Frank Stavis Memorial Fund, which finances the Frank Stavis Leadership Forum to continue his legacy of Jewish leadership development.
A collaborative program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and the Mandell JCC, the Forum is comprised of a select group of young leaders. Over the course of six sessions, participants explore the meaning of Jewish community and Jewish leadership, the significance of Israel, and more. They also gain volunteer experience as a capstone to their coursework. Upon completion of the program, participants have the opportunity to take on new leadership roles within the Jewish community.
